 Dear Friends and Partners,Finally! Good news!The Israel government is talking about “opening” the skies and letting tourists travel to the Holy Land. This is one of the most important issues currently on our minds and the Tourist Industry has been working day and night to make it happen. Starting today, Israelis are allowed to travel to “green countries”, like Bulgaria and Croatia and do not need to enter isolation upon their return to Israel. After continued activities and pressure by the Organization for Incoming Tourism, the government announced today that by the end of August, an outline regarding entry of groups from “green” countries, who travel throughout Israel in supervised capsules, will be determined. Travel for businessmen/women is under consideration as well and should be decided in a few weeks. Amiel Tours, as one of the largest incoming tour operators that continues to operate even after the virus outbreak, had the great honor of hosting Mr. Assaf Zamir, Israel’s Minister of Tourism, in our office. We made it very clear to him and to his staff that we are in urgent need of a timeline, with precise information as to when and how tourists can return to Israel. We suggested already then that groups travel in closed and supervised capsules, thus guaranteeing safe travel within Israel. We are well known in the industry and I was privileged to meet with Mr. Israel Katz, Israel’s Minister of Finance, who took the time to listen to our situation and hear how much tourism has contributed to the Israeli economy in the past years. We leave no stone unturned in order to facilitate tourism to Israel. We are eager to welcome tourists, to continue working tirelessly and to provide the perfect experience for your clients.
